Alain Erdmer, Director General

The Director-General of TLSS is responsible for developing and implementing the vision, strategy and main channels of teaching and learning support services offered to University of Ottawa professors and students.

Biography

Before being appointed to the position in 2018, Mr. Erdmer served over two decades in senior leadership roles at TLSS, first as Director of the Centre for Mediated Teaching Learning, and next as Director of the Centre for Innovative Technologies in Education (CITE). He also previously served as Acting Director of the TLSS. All in all, Mr. Erdmer has served over 35 years in leadership of teaching and learning at uOttawa.

Mr. Erdmer has an extensive background in educational innovation and technology, having pioneered the implementation of distance learning, teaching technologies, multimedia and the technological advancement of uOttawa classrooms and learning spaces dating back over 20 years.

Mr. Erdmer's role works within the guidance and overall strategic leadership of the Vice-Provost of Academic Affairs.
