Make the most of the YuJa solution to capture your lectures and manage your videos. Simplify how you record and manage course recordings and any other videos.

What is YuJa Lumina

The YuJa Lumina video platform is a multi-source recording, editing, storage, and video distribution service (stored in the cloud) integrated with the Virtual Campus (Brightspace).

YuJa lets you record or import videos from your existing courses (or any other video you own), edit them, organize clips, add audio and visual enhancements, live stream, and insert quizzes.

You can access YuJa Lumina directly from Brightspace.

Please note: If you are recording your course in a teaching space on campus, please read the Guidelines for media recording of students in learning spaces.

Benefits of YuJa Lumina

The YuJa Lumina video platform is an all-in-one software for creating, managing, editing, live streaming, and sharing video content securely on any device. It is integrated with the Virtual Campus (Brightspace).

YuJa Lumina offers many benefits for both students and teaching staff. We signed a contract in June 2026 that can continue for the next 5 years.

  • Seamless viewing of course videos, with note-taking, bookmarks, and comments directly in the player.
  • Quizzes embedded in videos (multiple choice, true or false, short answer) allowing students to check their understanding of the content while watching.
  • Quiz results obtained immediately, with automatic synchronization to the Virtual Campus gradebook.
  • Automatic captioning of videos for better accessibility.

How to use YuJa Lumina

Access YuJa

We recommend accessing YuJa directly via the Virtual Campus (Brightspace). Once connected to YuJa through the Virtual Campus, you can download the YuJa client to capture your course lectures.

Create a video

YuJa offers video-capturing features that can be used to record your lecture. The Software capture tool must be installed on your computer.

Edit a video

YuJa Video Editor can trim parts of recorded videos, insert slides and images, edit captions, and perform other video editing tasks. This guide describes the features available in the Yuja Video Editor.

Livestream

YuJa Live Streaming allows faculty members to stream their classes synchronously over the Internet. Through the following document, you will learn how to host a Live Stream, features while watching a Live Stream, and all the different settings within the program.

Video quiz

YuJa allows faculty members to insert a quiz into a video. The following documentation illustrates this functionality and how it connects with the Virtual Campus (Brightspace) Gradebook. Note: To create a video quiz in YuJa, a video must be uploaded to “My Media” section or previously recorded in YuJa.
