Staying Human in the Age of Omnipresent AI

New workshop

The affective aspect of teaching and learning is an important part of pedagogy: despite the many ways technology may serve us, educators are all humans at the end of the day.

This discussion will focus on attending to the human aspects of our pedagogy as we navigate this moment of ongoing uncertainty generated by the increasing presence of AI in education.

At this workshop, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Identify emotions and reactions you are experiencing as an educator at this turbulent moment.
  • Name and describe aspects of teaching or pedagogy that you are grieving at this time.
  • Identify and ground yourself in the strengths, competencies, and qualities you bring as a human educator.
  • Identify pedagogical practices that you want to lean on, focus on, or (re)develop as you navigate this destabilizing moment.

This workshop is offered on campus only.
