Part I - Getting Started
This self-paced online workshop is split into parts with a variety of activities for you to complete in each. This first part will cover getting started in Brightspace, including how to access Brightspace, how to access and use your demo space, how to adjust your personal settings and the settings for a course, how to create your official course space, as well as add someone to your course. It will also review the various notifications available within Brightspace.
This first part should take you approximately 2 hours to complete and will entail watching 11 short videos and using the handout (click on the button below to download it) to complete a variety of activities.

Part II - Quizzes Tool
This second part will cover the “Quizzes” tool in Brightspace, which can be used to create assessments like exams, quizzes, and tests. The “Quizzes” tool provides a way for students to complete these types of assessments online and for professors to grade and give feedback on that work. The workshop will look at how to create a quiz, how to adjust the different settings associated with a quiz, including the main properties, restriction, and evaluation settings, as well as how to preview and test what has been created prior to releasing to students. In addition, the workshop will cover how to use the “Special Access” settings within the “Quizzes” tool to address technical difficulties that students might encounter during an online “Quizzes” assessment.
This second part should take you approximately 2 hours to complete and will entail watching 6 short videos and using the handout to complete a variety of activities.
