(Re)designing Assessments: Making decisions about Generative AI

Special Series - Getting ready for September 2026!

Generative AI is increasingly being used in courses, from generating ideas and summarizing information to revising and completing coursework. Although this shift may feel destabilizing at times, it also creates an opportunity to look at how we design our assessments.

In this workshop, we’ll examine when and why generative AI might be prohibited, limited, or integrated into a task. We’ll see how the various purposes of assessment and the evidence we collect to support claims about student learning can inform those choices. The session will also create space to share our concerns and discuss practical advice for navigating these challenges.

A Zoom link will be sent to registered participants the day before the webinar.
